ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

"Hendo's" programme notes for tomorrow:

“People can disagree with me saying this, but my opinion is that our owners have been good for Liverpool. If you have a problem with me saying that, fair enough and I respect that. But my opinion is built on my own first-hand experiences, from the enormously privileged position of being a player and captain of this football club.

“The club has great people based here on Merseyside who will do that, under the leadership of Billy Hogan. I’ve spoken a lot to Billy this past week and the club is lucky to have him in my opinion. I’ve told him I will help him in any way I can as we look to emerge from this.

Here's Billy Hogan 4 days ago:

“We have therefore joined AC Milan, Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Manchester City, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur as Founding Clubs of the Super League. It is anticipated that a further three Clubs will join ahead of the inaugural season, which is intended to commence as soon as practicable.

“The Super League will be the future of European football and if we want to continue our journey of being a sustainable Club with ambition to grow and continue winning trophies then we should absolutely be part of that process and have a seat at the table rather than outside that group".

What a rank and utterly bankrupt club. The captain hawking himself around trying to save the investment of billionaires and praising one of the architects of the Scab League.

Get the brush out and sweep it all under the carpet. Weird how they think being captain of Liverpool means anything whatsoever. Half of them have just spent their time apologising for their racist team mates or violent fans

The demand to 'stand down' to the fans to avoid conflict for their billionaire bosses is an embarrassment.

"Jurgen and Hendo" in cahoots with Dem Yanks...,and the cult will do what they're requested and move along like the stage army they are.

I thought they single handedly saved the premier league though?

RAWK:

Interesting quotes from Henderson regarding Billy Hogan, speaks very highly of him:

Klopp also very strong in his support of Henry & co - clearly there is a unity behind the scenes despite the ESL/Furlough mishaps:

“They are good people and they have been good for Liverpool Football Club. This is my opinion.

“This was a mistake. A big mistake. And it’s right they take responsibility for it."

We have a great coach and a great club captain. If they are happy with the folks that run our club then who am I to judge otherwise. We have a huge transfer window ahead of us. Hopefully Klopp gets the backing he needs to refresh the team so we can get back to where we were and compete with City.

they know their customers will lap up this sycophancy without question. They tried to steal a sport from its roots and destroy a 133 year old institution for their own end. Shameful six.

What's hurting them is the spectacle each tea will be getting from protesting though.

They are genuinely in a catch 22 here, where the spoilt gets cant have their cake and eat it.

They will obviously not want to be shown up as less radical and authentic than Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea etc. They will also not want to cause disunity at the club. They cant do both of those.

This might sound odd, but a lot of those there today are attention seekers. But Liverpool will have plenty of them.

Groups like Spion Kop and SOS have already made their positions publicly known, they want them gone. To back down now, when all other fan groups are hardening will make them look weak.

Going to be fun watching it all play out.
