ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Klopp on VVD

Jan 20th:

“He looks really good. I spoke to him this morning on the phone, and he is in a really good mood. It’s all very promising, but I don’t know when he will be back. For sure there are still a lot of stages to go and to clear. I had this injury myself, so I know. But for the time we are in, and for how long he is out now, and the rehabilitation, he looks really, really promising.”

Feb 2nd:

Reports in recent days said the influential defender could return this season.
Klopp said: “I don’t know where these things are coming from. No doctor told me there is a chance for Virgil to play in this season again. I don’t want to say that is absolutely impossible but it is not likely. It is not likely so we don’t have to discuss these things really.

Essentially, the medical experts (hated by mini dictators like Klopp) have spotted him talking nonsens and piped him down.

What I'd also say on this, is that Klopp will be very bullish about when players will return. If he's saying it won't happen this season, there is a chance of 2 rthings for me;
1) It may be well beyond that deadline
2) There may have been a set back.

It's funny you mention that. I spoke to a friend who works as a doctor, and while they don't specialise in ACL's or whatever, just asked him if someone was walking/kicking a ball, how far were they off. His answer was absolutely miles. That walking or light exercises put very little strain on the knee joint, even jogging doesn't. Getting back to anything approaching the intensity of elite sport is still a long way ahead You really have to build the knee up to that. He seemed to think I was a bit of an idiot for even asking such a question (which isn't the 1st time).

They knew about Matip before they made a rash call to by 2 cb's in. Some rumours they were even considering 3 cb's. I wonder if there has been a set back for VVD.

Van Dijk is finished at the top. 30 he'll be when he gets back fitness. And his ACL will be weakened.
