TBF they (City) did have a few seasons where money was spent without much sense. Aguero was the first player they bought who was self evidently better than everyone else (and KdB aside, he still is).

If it had been one of his centre backs, the fury would have been immense from him. But it wouldn't be lingering like a bad smell. He'd give it full blast and then leave everyone knowing where he and united stood without starting to look like an eejit and bring ridicule on themselves. Mind you, he knew how to play the media and mental side of the game as well as anyone and that's why he's one of the all time great managers.

Certainly they did, and still do (I'm whistling innocently at the John Stones deal) in some cases, but they do seem to be more focussed on who they targeted or that might just be in my mind as they were getting league titles and so on since then so it appeared that they had a plan. I'd probably be a lot more critical if I were a City fan.
 

Nothing like an overreaction from the Devils club. My red mate telling me that in the news up here they are saying Liverpool an Man U want a super league but they could be saying something different in the news down south. To get people in the north to turn on there clubs. When it’s also the teams from London’s idea. I reminded him BBC is national news an not northwest tonight.

He also believes project big picture was something sky made up. He was banging on about been anti establishment. I told him you can’t claim to be anti establishment an support Liverpool football club with out been a hypocrite.

The point is all there fans are proper weird an the scouse ones are just as bad. I try not to talk to him about football because he turns in to a bad weapon when he does.

Also I think they know that big daddy one knee might be finished. A player approaching 30 with that injury good chance he might never be the same player when he does come back. So we won’t hear the end off this for some time we all no how they like to drag things out.
 
As has been rightly spoken by fellow blues, its never nice to see anyone injured, and let's be honest there have sadly been too many absolutely horrific injuries during all of our viewing of football.

Gomez and Coleman's injuries recently for us were much worse than Dykes, resulting in them being stretchered off and on oxygen but it got me thinking of the worst during the Premier Leagues time.

Haaland gets mentioned most but that is partly due to Keane's behaviour but there is a shocking list.

Worst probably Busst. I remember it due to Schmeichel reportedly vomiting at seeing it. Checking Busst had to have 26 operations and never played again.

Cisse had one of the horror leg breaks as did Ramsey, Eduardo, Nils, Ben Arfa, and many others.

Cech's skull being caved in which almost killed him. Similar was Ryan, was it, the lad who never played again?

Mabbutt almost losing his eye.

If there was a list of the worst injuries VVD, sad as his injury is would be nowhere near it. The media circus, however, and the kopitery of the last few days would have those not connected to the sport thinking it was the worst sporting injury ever.
