ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

When my lads were young, I would tell them stories I made up about a character called Freddie the Fish, (who lived in a cave at the bottom of the sea, with sand for a carpet), and they dropped off near the end, (and after school, Freddie's mum made sausages for tea).

Will give Anfield a call. We all need to rally round in these difficult days.

What kind of sausages?

That statement from Wijnaldum is very telling. They clearly are very wary and obviously don't like playing against you. Which is exactly how you want it to be. I remember City being on the wrong end of some terrible drubbings by United then Mancini arrived and he changed the mentality totally. It was only during his time I was absolutely sure we would beat them. Not think or hope we would beat them, but actually knew we would. That is the mentality that Ancelotti is now instilling. Once you actually beat them, even if its in a cup game then the tables are totally turned. Getting them in the FA cup would be good. Klopp would be forced to play a decent strength side and you could turn them over. Whilst they are good at dishing out the physical side of the game (under the protection of compliant officials) they certainly can't handle being on the receiving end of it. If a few more teams would realise that instead of rolling over even before they have kicked off it would make things very different.
If you were drawing parallels between Everton now and City back when Mancini was in charge, do you think that's a reasonable assumption? Back then City had bought frequently and expensively with some coming off and some not so much, but there was a reasonable backbone which with the sprinkling of world class talent really could perform from. I think Silva and James are very comparable to their impact on each club also - a bit of star quality is added that previously wasn't there. Aguero and RIcharlison even though different kind of attacking players match up in terms of positives. We also have a Joe Hart clone in goal!

I know every season is different, and this one is an oddball especially, but being a city fan, I would very much like to get your take on how we look this year compared to back then with your team. I know there's only 33 games to go so it may be a bit presumptuous. Either way where better to discuss it but in front of the rs lurkers on their thread!

The Daily Mail has been trying to rival the Mirror to see which rag can stick its head up Liverpool's rear end the furthest. Their embargoed news last night was that David Coote 'forgot' the rules that he could have sent Pickford off despite the offside (denied by the PGMOL today, won't hold my breath waiting for the retraction though) and they are also claiming that he's been dropped (despite the fact he refereed the Leeds-Wolves match last night and is on Fourth Official duty at the weekend).

Christ, this reaction is making me almost feel sorry for referees!
I ended up reading the Sunday edition. This Oliver Holt is a sort isn't he?

This thread just knocked it up a notch. Tell us more about Freddie the Fish please.
