I'll be frank, I dont think these articles are helping them much at all. They just need to kill the story now. Theyve done their uturn, kill the story.

Look we will criticise them whatever happens. However the criticisms of them went far beyond Evertonians. Rivals fans, and even whole swathes of their support base were up in arms over the decision.

Trying to deflect the story away, with the insinuation that somehow how and when the news was announced was the problem is problematic to me. It hints at an ownership that doesnt really understand the mistake they have made and are resentful.

If I was advising them, I'd be doing no more on it. More broadly, in spite of the PR work people are astute enough to know the difference of doing the right thing and being forced to do the right thing. They know which FSG are and they just need this furlough story to go away. Continually banging on about it is the last thing I would do.
