ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I'm getting a bit bored of hearing the "who cares?", "more important stuff" etc. etc. now. Yes, we all know there is. But it's still very very important to me that Liverpool don't get given the title.

It doesn't make me a monster for thinking that way - it just means that I really loathe that shower of mutants and wish nothing but the worst on them from a footballing perspective.

I am a who careser (?).

This kind of stuff can be sorted once its all settled down. Discussing it now is pointless as nobody knows what will happen.

Also whatever happens it has ruined their title win even if they do get it.

I still think by hook or crook they'll end up as official Champions. Sincerely hope not, though. I absolutely would not be surprised if some crazy unprecedented legislation is brought in to freeze the league, not relegate anybody but still award them the trophy.

It's a discussion forum - other things are allowed to go on in the world too. It really isn't a zero sum situation.

Like United and Chelsea are linked with Jude Bellingham - football fans are allowed to discuss that; it doesn't mean they're heartless monsters for not dedicated every waking minute of their lives to thinking about COVID-19 and the human misery of it.

h

They can give them supreme champions of the milky way galaxy. It would mean just the same. They haven’t won the league.

Ah, like the banter doesn't offend me or anything, I expect there'll be plenty of it to come since we're all going to be having far more forum time on our hands in the coming weeks, but do you really care that much?

I mean, I have a load of huge concerns right now, does Liverpool winning the league feature on that list? Nope. Is it a minor side story of this whole thing I have a nugget of interest in? Probably. Will I still be Lolling at them and their fans like any other day? 100%

Of course, it doesn't bother me on here. Its the utter outrage of some people on the radio etc getting proper het up about it that annoys me.

Nope, they paid for 38 games and they should get 38 games or pay nothing.

If you pay for a match ticket I expect to be able to watch 90mins of play not get booted out at half time

so clubs should also refund all season tickets to fans in full as they didn't get all 19 games? Sky should pay back all customers?
The sponsors still had their name shown for most of the season, I doubt they would expect to get that for free

Doesent matter, if they get the lawyers involved they won't have to pay anything.
Which is why the season is likely to finish at some point

This could certainly happen.
They cannot win THE title with 3/4 of the season played, that is obvious. Equally obvious is that they can and should be called the champions of the 2019/2020 coronavirus-shortened season. The league would then more than likely (IMHO) give them the real trophy and engrave their name onto it, which would just be funny. The RS get to be the only team in history to get their name on the league champions trophy without actually winning it - a punchline to a joke for the rest of time.

Null and void, no one wins anything, still defo an option though. Thought at first this sounded like an extreme position but really it could be the only option, as others have pointed out it probably insulates the league from any serious legal action, it's a tough decision but for a very tough time worldwide (so would be reluctantly accepted), and it brings immediate certainty to an uncertain time, which is gold dust.
