ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I know it's a few days old but the virtue-signalling coming from that lot about hotels in Qatar is truly nauseating. Proper dimwits are praising them for "taking a stand against slave labour", whilst seemingly forgetting/ignoring the fact that people died building the stadium in which they will be playing, the whole Qatari infrastructure is built on slavery, they won't be able to find a hotel not built on slavery, they're in a legal battle to try to get a kit manufacturer who pays kids 30p-an-hour to stitch shirts and footballs in a sweatshop and they're sponsored by a bank that's been fined more than £8bn in the last 5 years for money laundering and breaching trade embargoes with Iran. What's not to like?

In fairness, just about everything to do with the PL and finance is nauseating, including our gambling sponsors....

2014 I was convinced they were winning it from about January onwards. Was gutted all the time about the thought of it. My mate, who is an Evertonian too, said all along they wouldn't win it. Even with 3 matches to go he said they wouldn't.

The slip happened and he was proved right against the odds. I asked him that summer why he was so convinced and he replied similar to this, "you've tied yourself up in knots worrying about something that never happened. Deep down I probably thought they would win the league but would cross that bridge when I came to it and never gave it a thought really."

I was annoyed with how much bedwetting I did over a bloody sport and have tried to adopt his attitude ever since.
That attitude works well in life mate, not just football ;)

No. I don't post on Bluemoon.
It's a long story but a bunch of us were culled (permanently banned) after they sacked Mancini and we showed our support for him. At the time the people who ran Bluemoon and moderated it were fiercely anti Mancini (something that has since been vehemently denied but its 100% true). It went down as the 'Mancini Wars' on BM and a new forum was started from it which is invite only.
As I say - a long story, but a good one! ;-)
So you're not SteveO? Shame

and when he says that fifa need to think sbout the players and not their wallets, when their pre-season was in locations chosen specifically to maximise revenue is just a little bit hypocritical

No injuries ever, no bad refereeing decisions ever, keepers throwing the ball in the net most games, opposition missing simple chances every game. Would be funny if it was 2 or 3 games in a row but it’s been a season and a half.
I know this is “your thing” but they had goals ruled out in both their last matches that could (and most recently should) have been given, and their keeper missed the first two months of the season with their centre backs seemingly always missing one or two.

It’s that their best players don’t get injured, not that none of them do that’s lucky.
