ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

O'Brien's goal against Spurs was disallowed for our players being offside and interfering with their goalie.
Guardiola sussed it - mark Van Dijk and LFC have no out ball and he becomes frustrated because he's not involved in the game. Lfc have one of the most porous defences in the league which goes to shop how poor Villa and Real were.

PGMOL and the PL will have calculated that Arsenal's late slip yesterday opens the door to the resumption of their airlift to another Liverpool title.

Expect some outrageous decisions to go their way today.

It's all choreographed.

The PL is just a fairy story. Anyone believing it's not is in a dreamworld.

The plot is:

Arsenal always the bridesmaids
City the villains on the naughty step
Liverpool emerge with a dynasty - playing Slot-ball in an environment where set-piece football is the norm
🙃

The goal they scored against us last year at Analfield is one of the worst interference offsides I’ve seen.

Diaz was in an offside position right up Tark’s arse, that forced him to make a move, which Diaz was then involved in, and led to a goal.

Not a word said about it. The same way we’ve had a couple of horrific decisions of a similar ilk this year and standard radio silence … rules are rules etc.

But when it’s them it’s akin to a human rights infringement.

RAWK

We have been on the end of some scandalous officiating this season:

1. Head injury to Macca in United game. Game not stopped and 1-0 down.
2. Todays goal
3. Brentford peno on Gakpo not given
4. Brentford peno given after VAR review - guy lost the ball and threw himself over

I’m sure there’ll be some hyperbolic doomsaying about our performance, as happens around every loss regardless of circumstance. But at what point does it become tough to analyse how good/bad we’ve been in a match where we’ve once again had multiple game-changing decisions go in Man City’s favour by referees who are either from the area or literally paid by Abu Dhabi?

It happens over and over again, and genuinely makes you wonder what the point of all this is. The Robertson ‘offside’ isn’t being justified even by ex-Man City players turned cheerleader pundits, and nobody can point to a comparable precedent.

Just so deflating to watch a team of cheating sportswashers make a mockery of the sport for so many years now.
