ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Also Van Dijk when he’s not on the juice is absolute comedy gold. People were calling him Van Disney a few seasons ago when he was cycling off and he’ll have only got worse. 400k a week for a bloke to stand bent over with his backside sticking out miles outside the area trying to defend with his ‘aura’.

Just leave this here from April last season

Saw a stat that said defending champions have only lost 4 league games in a row four times in the history of the PL. Leicester 16/17, City last season, Liverpool both times after their recent title wins.

So never before in the history of the PL but 4 times in the last 10 years alone, and three of these have been to teams described as some of the best ever in the PL posting 90 points plus.

Yet you mention cycling off and all the super bloo kops come at you for questioning the best run team in the world with the best training and the best everything.

The swings in performance levels are just not normal, anyone with eyes can see it. Especially when it affects every player. So City have a record breaking streak if 100 points then 99, but the season after every single one of their players are all a yard off. Liverpool go 98 points, then 99, but then drop 30 points the season after. How can all the players lose all their form at the same time?

The same thing is literally happening now. Not one of Liverpool’s players look in form, not a single one, they all look slow, every one of them. How has that happened when they were champions last season?

Confidence, teams working them out etc.

I'm certainly not dismissing the cycling off theories, I just think there's other factors at work.

Anyone know when the RS last lost five league games in a row?

I couldn't believe it when I checked my phone last night and they were still playing at 90+10. You're telling me there was another three minutes after that??

I know there's a lot more stoppage time in football generally than there used to be, and that's been going that way for the last few years. First time I really noticed it was in the last world cup... but is there another team that consistently gets as much added on as them when they need a goal?

The statistics on that will be out there somewhere, would be interesting to know.
Yet 3 minutes blown up bang on 3 defending a slender lead against their local rivals

You could say that in the games that they did win, I'm thinking of Bournemouth, Newcastle and Arsenal in particular, they were very lucky to get the 3 points. The mark of champions we were told. They should be worse off for points than they really are.

It's glorious to see how Salah and Virgil have fallen off the biggest cliff known to man. And doing this while on brand new humungous contracts. Van Dick in particular seems to evade criticism in the media, they still believe he's the best defender in the league and yet Gabriel at Arsenal clears him by some distance. And as for Wirtz, he's looking like a Teemu Werner.

Arsenal look different this year, more solid an more squad depth and I'm not writing City and the cyborg off either. But I am writing that shower off.
