Ronnie Whelan?
1979. Steve Heighway was the player in question there.Ronnie Whelan?
All mic'd up for a rendition of YMCA there.
Very interesting Dave, and consistent with my understanding of the histories of the two clubs particularly since the split in 1892. I would like to see the whole article if you can load it - this stops after ...'to Bill Shankly to...'
Meanwhile Dubai, brilliant liberal location where *checks notes*Shelvey claiming there that 'you can't wear a watch' in London now. What sort of utter cabbage is he?
And in other news, all sorts of discussion in the media and on the radio about whether the touchline ban for Maresca leaving his technical area is harsh or not - but not one single mention for contrast of when Klopp charged into the middle of the pitch while the game was going on. Of course, that's all been forgotten. Just high jinks and excitement from the great man...

- Smyth and Scott were 'non-Irish' Nordies (as opposed to actual Irish Nordies)

I think the article is saying about players who were born in Ireland - Irish nationality? Aldridge was born in Liverpool (I think) and played for Ireland because of his grandmother or uncle’s cousin’s auntie’s dog or something.John Aldridge ?![]()
