I like you posts catcherintherye. Lot of good thoughts and sensible approach to most things. Don't take any notice of the people knocking you in here.
However, I'd be amazed if Mane is sold for 50M this summer. Do Liverpool have that much debt? I'll be honest I don't take much notice to football finances, even less so to other teams. Not even seen much about Liverpool's finances in the media. Is this another example of the media burying their bad news and painting a rosy picture when it's far from it?
On Mane, he's just turned 28 so I would say Hazard is a comparable transfer. He went for 100M last summer and had just 1 year left on his contract. Is Mane going for less due to Liverpool's financial issues, the downturn in the transfer market of a bit of both?
It's hard to say but I'd have Mane as one of the Top 5-10 attacking players in the World so him going would make a massive impact. With 50M they wouldn't be able to replace him adequately either.
Alright mate, don't worry I give enough out to deserve a bit of stick back!
I think there are 2 factors here. Firstly Hazard is miles better than Mane and is far more suited to Spain. Secondly the situation we are in will kill prices. Real Madrid have very little money. I'm just going off them not wanting to bid more than £75m last summer. They're not bothered about Mane, he'd be a squad player for them.
He is now older, as you say 28, the market for over 27's is being it heavily. In general it's not a good time to be trying to sell players 27 upwards. Their values could fall by maybe 50% maybe 75%.
As for their debt problems, they are pretty severe. Probably £140m lost between the end of the season and the start of this circus season. More to come with no pre-season games, massive reduction in merchandise sales, sponsors either downgrading, not renewing or coming out of agreements etc.
In all seriousness I have no idea if they sell Mane. I doubt it, they probably know they've missed the boat. Nobody is going to bid £120m for him. And they will not be signing Mbappe. I've been saying that for months now, even when most of the experts on LFC were going on abouthim being in the bag with their £100m sponsorship with Nike (thats actually worth just £30m).
