i was on a racing trip with a gang of mates in Harcourt Hotel, Dublin. We were a mix of red & Blues, an Irish lad gave me 15-1 for Arsenal to win the league so I had a bit of that. With minutes to go one of my RS mates had cleared a space on the bar and said ‘I’ll be up there in a minute’, needless to say I turned around as Thomas scored and he’d gone up to his room

Best story I heard was from a proper Evertonian mate of mine who’s a bookie and was working at a dog track that night. From his pitch all he could see was the bottom half of a TV screen in the corporate lounge and in the last second he saw a pair of yellow socks rolling in a somersault on the pitch. Joy.

I couldn't watch it after seeing us lose at Wembley a few days before, so stayed in my room sulking thinking they were going to get The Double, then heard a commotion downstairs & my dad laughing his head off, ran downstairs to join in the shenanigans.

Cheered me up a bit that.
