ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Liverpool out of Europe - your reaction

Harvey: Just for that starting line-up and formation alone, Slot should be sacked. Atrocious starting with Isak, he's nowhere near fit, always looks so lazy and should be nowhere near this team. We'll probably finish in the top five, but what a shocking season.

Shocking my ass. A season the vast majority of teams would snap your hand off for.

Book of Condolence has opened for Ekitike

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate is being interviewed by Amazon Prime.

He's just been asked about Hugo Ekitike's injury.

"I'm very sad for him. To be fair I think it is bad. I don't know. I send him my prayers and everything."

Oh the inquests are in full swing on the WhatsApp groups, glorious to see.

They want the manager sacked yesterday and half the squad sold.

Be careful opening your post Andros

I think the problem is Arne Slot was expecting this season to have more possession and more domination, so you can get Florian Wirtz more into the game. That has not worked out the way he hoped. Wirtz is on the fringes, and he is not pulling his weight out of possession.

He's not in the same universe never mind on the same planet

More from Arne Slot, speaking to Amazon Prime: "Last week was of course tough and very difficult but we showed in a week that we can improve a lot and it is a big compliment to the players that they showed how they could be.

"The players kept on going, even after going 1-0 down and that is a big compliment to them.

"If you look at xG we should have scored two but didn't score one and that has happened far too often this season."

On focus now on getting top five: "Of course. That is what we have to play for now in the coming weeks. The good thing is Alex (Isak) is back, well able to make minutes.

"Much has been said that the club is in a transition. The club has sold 8-10 players to make money to sign five or so very talented players.

"We have to sell to buy. We are losing some players on a free transfer. It is a big challenge in the summer but the club has shown this model works. As I said many times the future looks very good, especially if we can sign players after good players leaving this summer."

Would have been a travesty if they’d have fluked their way through. We may end up with 4 of the best sides in Europe in Bayern PSG Arsenal and Atletico. This Liverpool don’t belong anywhere near that company.

They got airlifted to that PL title last season too.

They haven't had a dominant team since the late 80s.

Since 1990 they've won two titles and the two are practically worthless as one was the null and void covid season; the other was when the authorities had City on the naughty step.

The CL final they won in 2005 was all down to Milan clocking off against a rank Liverpool team; the one they won against Spurs was...well...against Spurs.
