ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Radio 4 this morning. Their usual current affairs and news coverage was interrupted by a panel discussion about Mo Salah, who, judging by the tone of celebration mixed with mourning, has apparently died.

Apparently he's one of the all time greats, he not only changed football, but he changed British culture, the goal against Galatasary was the greatest ever (and papers over that his legs have fallen off this season), and there will be statues built to him.

No exaggeration.

Stephen Warnock with some interesting calculations..."I know people are saying they’re not getting any money for him, but he was on a £400,000-a-week contract - so by taking that off the books, the club is effectively saving a significant amount.

In a way, that's a financial gain. Even though they could have got 100m off a Saudi club in January"
Interesting logic. By that, they would benefit by selling all their players.

Incidentally, Trump has run the cost of the Iran war through the Kopulator and apparently the USA is making $50m an hour and oil prices are falling through the floor.

Absolute better in the bbc site comments

"Absolute legend! It's not just the trophies and records, consider also the incredible near misses: PL runner-up twice by a single point, with staggering 97 and 92-point hauls, and coming closer than anyone ever in history to a quadruple, falling just one league point and one CL win short. Outstanding!"

So there you have it, they came closer than anyone in history to the mythical quad. If only they'd won the league and Champions League they'd have done it!

Been really really quite the reds I have in or around my life, the last few months. Strange aint it.
This is what they will use to be relevant at the end of the season when the shiny things are being handed out, there will be two stories dominating the coverage on the final day - the PL trophy award at the Emirates and the 'end of an era' at Anfield (for any other club read - 'player leaves club').

My obsession with Rick Edwards continues. Even though he apparently wasn't hosting Five Live this morning he was on the phone giving his opinion. Prick said Salads greatest goal and his own personal favourite was that one against us

Popped on Facebook and saw NBC sports with a Salah story. Grumbled to myself about them always showing me RS stuff. Then I saw the headline. Maybe this is finally the season they fall into mediocrity for a long spell. Made so many bad decisions but they always seem to come out smelling of roses.
