BBC running an article is European away safety getting worse, which has a comments section. The article references the 2022 champions League final. The 2022 Champions League final became a "near mass fatality catastrophe" due to poor organisation by Uefa and French authorities. I posted that the article fails to note ticketless Liverpool fans were encouraged to travel by Klopp, and I mentioned the deaths they were responsible for at Heysel. Very quickly it got 10 up votes to 1 down vote. A few minutes later the comment was removed.

It’s always someone else’s fault. Some of them even got compensated.

Congratulations to liverpool fc 2025/2026 on the worst defence of a league title ever seen since Leeds United 1992/1993 and Blackburn Rovers 1995/1996. They are going to fall off a cliff and fall off it pretty hard indeed over the next couple of years imo.

The way Klopp got away completely unchallenged about that encouragement to travel was and remains scandalous.

Not once did it come back to bite him in any way. Other people saying similar things would have found their careers and reputations permanently damaged at the least. Not given sickeningly lucrative ads gurning about Trivago.
