I thought the breakdown of Konaté and VVD’s defending was excellent—eye‑opening, really, given how surprising it is to see them getting such fundamentals wrong.

Carragher’s reaction was terrific. If Salah’s claim about him being briefed holds any weight, then Salahs race is run. Still, it was brilliant television, and I’d have happily watched it go on longer—I do enjoy seeing them unravel like that.

Carragher was absolutely fuming and rightly so.
