ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

"Erling Haaland opened the scoring just shy of the half hour mark, thumping home a header, with every outfield player touching the ball in a build-up that perfectly summed up the grace and style that Guardiola has brought to the Blues in his near 10-year spell".

If lfc had done that we'd never have heard the last of it, including a news item last night. But, interesting that neither Rooney or Murphy mentioned this on MOTD2. Seems Rooney was more interested in not continuing his correct assessment of Van Dijk's lack of leadership (probably been told by those in charge to drop it). Van Dijk's attempted block of the shot for City's second was there for all to see, pathetic.

The international break will give the PGMOL time to assess how the season is going so far. Hopefully this warning from the Yank Wagner will not lead to handing lfc games on a plate.

"Speaking at The Summit, part of Leaders Week London 2025, Wagner, an American investor, said: "I think the top clubs in English football have to be protected at all costs. We can't take too much from the top clubs to support the pyramid.

"If you have a situation where the top teams are not dominant, I mean internationally, with the very best players and product, then the interest will wane - particularly from the US market which will drive interest and capital flows into football".

Why is there a national debate over every decision that goes against them ?
It is all about undermining referees in future matches so that officials are scared to give marginal decisions against them without being vilified.
Yep. Happened the other season in their game against Spurs when they got a goal wrongly disallowed. There was a massive media inquest over it with genuine shouts for a replay and everything.

They barely had a decision go against them after that, and it’s little wonder. The refs must’ve been terrified.

Any other team in the league bar about 2 or 3 just get that brushed off and told to suck it up move on.

Was it Villa that got relegated due to an error in the goal line technology? And there wasn’t half as much of a ruckus made over it.

All they want is attention to be deflected away from talking about how utterly 'kin 💩 they are.

The Robertson Rat knew immediately it was no goal as he tried to walk away briskly from the scene of his crime without bothering to celebrate.

Anyway: they got pumped by a City team in 2nd gear. End of story.

They’re trying a tried and trusted tactic. Klopp did it after their disallowed goal v Spurs, and then last season they did it after David Coote got found out. They put so much pressure on the referees through the media that eventually every ref goes out thinking he has to give them every 50 50 for the rest of the season on the basis they’re somehow owed it. It’s their go to play every single time they’re in some trouble. Howard Webb should tell them to sling their hook.

On this occasion though it's a case of everyone else going "WTF?!! Ha Ha Ha".

There's nothing down for them here on this one - it's a common or garden "look over there" short term embarrassment tactic.

Forest their next game, at the Pitt.
This game will suit Forest, Dyche will sit back and hit long balls to Gibbs White who is no slouch.
I can see them scoring a few on the break. Forest have a handful of nippy players and Captain fantastic will not like the ball over the top.
Those 5 or 6 games they lost were to teams who refused to kowtow to their press, Forest won't give them the chance to press, they will clear their lines in double quick time.

Have the lambs stopped screaming yet :bye:

Maybe it’s was old Slotty analysing City in his words ‘250 times’ only to still get pumped 3-0 ?

I mean he even missed the Arsenal game because he was analysing City bless the bald lepper

Now they are raging at an offside goal THAT WAS OFFSIDE !!!!!

Bunch of entitled clowns, how dare a goal of theirs is chalked for because it was illegal
