Wish I could try that on £520,000 a year. That's more than $900,000 in Canadian funds.

Im not in any way saying that it isn't a large amount of money but when you've already budgeted for your wage, with bills based on what you can afford, if you then suddenly have 30% taken off over night down to £350,000 overnight, you would also not be happy.
People forget you also have to then take off about 40% tax.

Yes they could

But parliament is currently in recess so it might not be practical short term.

But there are big businesses like manufacturers who turnover just as much money as football clubs, maybe more, but they are in big financial trouble and empty order books. So it's not that simple to legislate effectively to make sure the right firms get the money.

It's a moral issue too. Premier league football clubs should not be using the scheme.

In fairness to them, they wanted to keep the scheme as simple as possible so it actually helped and worked quickly.

They didnt expect that grasping football clubs would take the piss. And lets face it, it takes some doing to show that you have a grubbier moral compass than the Tory party.
