ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

It all panned out exactly how everyone knew it would.

Arnold off to Madrid on a free
VVD and Salah getting extortionate contracts that no one else (except for maybe in the Saudi league) would ever dream of offering them due to their age.

Their decline will be there for all to see next season.

Will be interesting because they all said for ages that Mane Firmino Salah was the best front three in the world. Couldn’t buy their connection apparently. Except you can throw donkey Nunez or bang average Elliot in there and any one of an assortment of ok forwards like Diaz Gakpo Jota and it hasn’t made a blind bit of difference. These players are apparently better than Coutinho was who moved Messi out of the ten position when he joined Barca he was apparently so good.

They were then apparently winning because Klopp was just a generational manager, he’s just so good he can even get their kids winning the carabao cup. Except he’s now gone and the next bloke who was their third choice after Alonso and Amorim just happens to win more.

Next it will be the departures of the premier leagues greatest ever goalkeeper centre, right back and forward (apparently). But no doubt whoever they buy in will just carry on where they’ve left off basically winning every game.

It’s the same argument I’ve made with City. Kompany Fernandinho Toure David Silva Aguero were generational players down the spine of the team. They all got old together and needed replacing at the same time and instead of there being a massive drop off, City bought a load of players I’d never even heard of before in Dias Rodri Bernardo Silva Jesus and they became even better and won even more than the legends before them had.

In the past when teams lost their spines the dynasty was over. Now they just pull any cab off the rank, literally any so single one, and the wins just keep coming.

There’s no way anyone with a brain would have McCalister Jones Gravenberch Szoboslai over Gerrard Alonso Mascherano. No one is having Nunez Jota Diaz Gakpo over Suarez Torres Owen Fowler. Yet all those players are watching these players win multiple leagues and get to numerous Cl finals year after year.

Perhaps when Liverpool lose Allison Van Dijk and Salah and replace them with some kid form the academy no one has heard of and then they continue to batter everyone in the league and get 90 plus points will people start to twig on what is really happening.

FSG and the City owners, and probably the Arsenal owners, are all in a doping arms race against each other at the moment, taking it in turns to cycle off and then peak back up. The only saving grace for us is that if City cycle on next season they’ve got much better players and manager than Liverpool have so should objectively walk the league.

What will be interesting is if other teams start to reach that quality level like Newcastle or Chelsea and they start running the same programmes (which I’m sure neither of their ownerships would have a problem with). Then we might finally start seeing a level playing field again and these halcyon recent years of Liverpool B teams bartering top European sides or top half prem teams away from home will be over.

So when's the Lance Armstrong moment coming?

So when's the Lance Armstrong moment coming?

Probably not for a long time. What player or journalist would dare speak out against the richest institutions in the sporting world, and if they’re a player also admit their own guilt. Can you imagine the defamation law suits the top clubs would bring?

It would need someone to get a serious health issue to ever speak up about it.

Largely because football has become less a game of skilled players and more like some WWE style athlete-a-thon.

Van Djik is only a top level defender because the refs won’t give pens or cards against him.

Salah is the most penalty stat-padded player in a generation.

BBC has dropped the Trent.
They ain't biased tho.
Eh,lurkers...when Madrid call and all that.........

Absolutely embarrassing how they try to brand everything. ‘Trent’ for his entire career and then it surnames all round once he leaves. Can’t wait for Becker to be in goal for Brazil in a few years time.

It’s like all their fans recent cringeworthy attempt to somehow commercialise the word ‘boss’. It’s absolutely embarrassing. Screams of insecurity.

what about us mate

asking for a fellow blue

Players with over 60 fouls committed this season:

Delap - 67 - Yellow Cards = 11
Gomes - 67 - Yellow Cards = 8 (+ 1 red card)
Semenyo - 66 - Yellow Cards = 9
Caicedo - 62 - Yellow Cards = 10
Lukic - 62 - Yellow Cards = 12
Mac Allister - 61 - Yellow Cards = 6
Hughes - 60 - Yellow Cards = 11

Easily explained, he’s not eligible for second yellows. Can add about three more and the three subsequent reds to that total at least.

We can add about 4 more from the games with us alone to be honest. Caught one of their games against City (I think?) and he also brilliantly mistimed a tackle and got only legs, which was reviewed and was only a foul somehow

Nailed on red and 5 game ban if it was literally anyone else.
The Fabinho invulnerability clause has been passed over to macallirat, van bader and konate, who can foul constantly without fear.
