It's not to be churlish, but can anyone make sense of that be position. I appreciate Klopp didnt start it, but it just seems really weird to me. Leave a hole at fullback to go and randomly stand in the middle of the pitch when you fancy it? I cant get my head around it.

The theory is that a midfielder covers when the full back comes inside.

Not much different to when one runs forward; a sitting midfielder usually tucks in to cover.

Obviously Herr Dentures invented it though.
