ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

There's some good points raised - Liverpool as a club need to accept more responsibility. Laying on travel would have been a good start.

But that article says as much about the current political mess in France too.

As bad as our lot.

You could have left it at that ...just saying
There's no evidence that 'a part of the crowd' acted up. Some people bunking in is s****** behaviour but they bunked in successfully so there was no trouble.

The ones who actually climbed into the stadium itself have been reported to be local Parisians (maybe some were Liverpool fans).

I don't know if anyone called this out as I still have a to of pages to read through but that is 'kin unreal.

I don’t understand how lax UEFA’s ticketing security is. The tickets looked like something anyone half competent with a computer and printer could knock up and if the steward numbers are low then it’ll be a nightmare trying to properly organise entry to the stadium and properly take the time to check tickets and weed out the fakes.

Surely they need to implement some sort of photo ID system for the tickets like the way Glastonbury does? If the person in the photo doesn’t match the person holding the ticket and the details on their then you can’t enter the stadium. And the only way to sell your ticket if you can’t go should be to sell it back to UEFA. Or just make it digital access only. Which obviously sucks for people who don’t use smartphones etc but maybe that’s a necessary evil.

The problem is, it’s all down to costs and printing pictures on photos will cost them money, and they don’t want that.

Surely the solution is to set up collection on the day, so no replicas can be arranged. Not that it was the biggest issue.

The reality is, UEFA have now shown twice that they are incapable of handling big events in the last 12 months.

Both times, they’ve blamed the fans, which in turn is correct, but accepted no blame themselves. It’s your showpiece event yet you’ve caused carnage by cost cutting twice now.

Increase your security and technology, liaise with local authorities and set up dispersal zones where you can’t enter without a ticket.

Cryarsus saying needed more policing.
They should be forced to pay for the additional policing if they want to play in Europe next season.
Why should local police have to pay millions to put on additional measures just coz they are incapable of behaving themselves.
Didn’t they moan there were too many police in Madrid and their level of checks was unnecessary to the point it was prejudicial?

Sky Sports journo, Kaveh Solhekol, saying trouble at both ends of the ground and the French police were firing off tear gas and pepper spray unnecessarily.

Very different from what I’ve been reading and seeing.

This.

It wont stop till the good fans AND the club start to call it out.

What Rangers did, the ex players asking them to behave, that sort of thing maybe.

I think the significant issue is that they’re being told to get there no matter what.

It’s tarred their name again, and maybe it is highlighted more because of their success, who knows.

But the club can be as proud as you want, just need to stop the “Istanbul? Book your hotels!” Rubbish.

You know 99% are decent folk, but others are idiots, absolutely zero respect for people lost in the past and it’s sad.
