ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

The only comparison here is Modric because Dzeko and Zlatan are both barely mobile now playing upfront for teams in Italy at a walking pace. They’re nowhere near where they were in their 20s.

Modric is the greatest midfielder since Xavi and Iniesta and one of the greatest of all time. Perhaps he is also doping, who knows, but it would be a bit more believable to buy that his supreme natural talent and slight build has kept him at the top table in a possession based team longer than bang average Milner.
I totally understand about your accusations of Milner but he's started 33 games in the last 3 seasons, he's been a bit part player.

Nothing to see, nothing to see here about doping, looks like someone who's look after himself throughout his career without any serious injuries who's teetotal.

Did you think the same about Gareth Barry playing starting in CM at 38 or Ryan Giggs still playing left wing at 40 years old, 2 players who made their debuts as 16 years old and played their entire careers in the PL.

Did you see how slow Barry was by the end for us? I was calling for him to retire halfway through his second season with us. He was sat in between the centrebacks by the end he was so deep because he was so worried about being done for pace. The injury to McCarthy was a huge reason Martinez started to fail because Barry plus McCarthy and Barkley was competitive. Barry a few years older with Cleverley and Besic just didn’t have the pace to win the ball back.

I could honestly buy Milner if he was coming in and playing that Barry role, but he’s playing full back at times and showing wingers down the line and out of play, he’s still dominating in a brutal midfield against lads ten years younger than him.

Giggs and Barry were walking around trading on their intelligence and touch on the ball but both were largely finished at the top level. Milner is still running like a 25 year old. Doesn’t matter how many games he’s played, he shouldn’t have the pace he does at his age. Ronaldo and Messi don’t have it so why is Milner arguably better now than he was when he left City in 2015 seven years ago?

Plus the fact that the very potion they're taking caused a professional swimmer to post better times in their late 30s after retiring than at their career peak, and bagged a mid 30s swimmer Olympic gold. They paid the latter for the formula.

It's cheating!

Don’t be pointing this out because all the fans who like seeing City and Liverpool on their BT sports subscription get 95 plus points every two seasons out of three and win 10 plus games in a row all the time will get upset

Don't get me wrong I thank God City are there to oppose the cult.

But the groveling humility of commentators in City games- just because they've chucked a few billion at their team- it's repulsive.
The brainwashing Martin Tyler and his ilk expect us to buy, the idea that City ( and Liverpool) are all there is to football; it just beggars belief.

I could be we wrong, but didnt Giggs end up getting played as a CM as he got older?

RS fans crying about our fireworks and Richy throwing the flare. One saying we should be ashamed using those tactics to win a game. Saying we should have points deducted ha ha ha

How quick they forget what they have done themselves.

Nice to see that even when they are going for 4 trophies we are in their heads. If we stay up it will really upset them. COYB

Yeah Barry and Giggs played every game past 35, Giggs even moved in CM and did that until he was 40 with ease, i never thought it was anything dodgy, just someone dedicated to his career, Barry the same thoughts.

Must be the teetotal lifestyle that prolongs careers with added sports science, on Milner he hardly plays and when he does start he has no mileage as he's sat on the bench 90% of the season, watch Modric on Wednesday running rings around players about to start his 59th game of the season at 36, but no qualms there form you.

You seem a bit old fashioned in regard to sports science 2022, sports science has gone over your head, look at the NFL QBs, modern greats like Brees Brady Favre playing in mid 40's, Lebron James almost 40 putting those crazy numbers up, Schumacher being in F1 till 44 years old, Raikonnen at 42.

Going Alex Jones because a teetotal footballer who hardly starts a game has gone under your skin for some reason.

What makes me laugh is this constant narrative that Arnold, Robinson cancelo etc have reinvented the full back role by attacking, when this has been done for years, from Carlos and cafu for Brazil, cole for arsenal, even Baines and Coleman for us under moyes were practically wingers. It's pathetic how everything both the top 2 do is seen as revolutionary when it's not. They're just doing what's been done for years but better. I can admit that.
