I think they were trying to pull a fast one (Liverpool): the deal was to sign him and loan him back to Fulham for the rest of the season. I reckon Liverpool were trying to get out of the loan back and took it to the wire to see if Fulham blinked and got done for time.

Depends on Fulham really - might want to try the tribunal route if the vermin are being cheapskates.

Because it's easier to tap him up with promises of becoming werld class as soon as he signs and as much Salbutamol as his lungs can handle.
