ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I don’t usually get caught up in the conspiracy theories around cheating big red, but I’d love to hear the actual detail here. How do you have that many false positives? Even if each test is individually 90% accurate or so, for that many to each be incorrect, seems almost statistically impossible.
The rapid ones are actually 98% accurate. The PCR are 99%. Read that today.

No they’re not. You’ve read it wrong. Accuracy of a LFT is average @ 72% in infected people & @ 99% if not infected.

They found that in people with confirmed COVID‐19, antigen tests correctly identified COVID‐19 infection in an average of 72% (ranging from 34% to 88%) of people with symptoms, compared with 58% of people without symptoms. In addition, they found that the tests were most accurate when used in the first week after symptoms developed.

In people who did not have COVID‐19, antigen tests correctly ruled out infection in 99.5% of people with COVID-19-like symptoms and 98.9% of people without symptoms.

I stand corrected, apologies!

Hello again buddy

So they give false negatives, but are very very unlikely to give a false positive. Even more unlikely to give several.

Basically what you are saying is that they are corrupt cheats

They are just such an unlucky club.

So many false positives where the chances of that are so so small. On top of every player they sign being a previously undiagnosed asthmatic.

On a serious note, the covid testing should not be run in house. The league should have independent testers at each club. There is blatant cheating going on.

Games should not be cancelled for less than 3 or 4 positives at any time either. The Leicester postponement is a farce.
