If you have never driven on the M6 / M1 northbound on the day of a home Liverpool match you would be truly amazed. It is a one big traffic jam of cars from Watford Gap onwards with Liverpool scarfs hanging out of the windows (and also placed strategically across the top of the dashboard and in the back window ledge), stickers all over the place and full kit w*ankers driving them. The big problem is if united are also playing at home on the same day it often kicks off in the services between them. It really is a sight to behold.
Some of them actually have a strong dislike for the city which is weird. I was on the train back up from London once and they had an early game against Cardiff.
Two home counties/faux Cockneys and were slagging off the city and the area by the stadium. They sat across from me on the table and I asked them why they supported Liverpool if they hate the city so much.
They just looked at me like I was talking in a foreign language. Came up with some lame sh** like one of their uncles lived in Hightown 40 years ago.
No connection. I dont get why they bother, there's tons of successful or big clubs in the London area.
I couldn't imagine supporting a London team whilst living in Liverpool.
