ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

The way they make out they’re the worlds most hated ‘and they love it’ despite all the refs and media pushing for them!
They crave adoration mate, despite their 'we don't care what everyone thinks of us' rhetoric. If they win the league they will be loathed even more by the majority of fans as they will be utterly graceless about it. They desperately want everyone to love and respect them, and they will hate it when the holy grail doesn't deliver that for them. It'll eat away at their empty souls.

VAR itself is not a problem but inconsistency across officials reviewing VAR is the problem. RS had couple of decision going against them vs Villa and United so definitely there is still a chance that VAR may actually cost RS some valuable points.

it’s difficult to really understand the league right now. 9 points gap is not impossible to close with so many games remaining. From what I have so far, RS have not been as fluent as they were last season. They have problems keeping clean sheet and winning by big margin. I think even Leicester has a better goal difference than RS. What I am 100% sure is that they have got a rub of the green so far with plenty of late goals and penalties. Yes they push till the last minute but they still need luck to cross the line.

I personally think they are just one loss away from completely folding. Law of averages says that luck will soon run dry and VAR will get them at some point. Injuries will catch up and few players will be out of form. It’s just annoying that they haven’t had a single bad result yet and that makes them mentally strong and consistent. Everything will come to end though, at some point. Quality wise I thought City and Chelsea were both better than RS but still lost to them. Their mediocrity will soon catch up and they will blow the title like they always do. Hopefully that turn of events will come sooner than later.

The only people saying its over are Evertonians. Chill out Tubes. Haven't you gotten use to them slipping up every single season for the past 30 years, whats so different about this year? You keep hoping it will be City, why not Chelsea?

You underestimate their proven record of blowing it, not the unproven record of winning leagues. I absolutely agree they look unstoppable, but they have history of imploding, and i'm alright with that
And if they do win it, it's really not the end of the world.

The official wording from the Premier league was that Alexander-Arnold's arm was not in an unnatural position, and that players deserve extra leeway on handballs where a ricochet is involved. Of course, this is absolutely wham as the Premier league also came out with an official reason why Son was sent off against us, and the FA thought that reason was a load of bubbles and overruled it. If the FA could retrospectively give pens and scratch goals like they can with red cards, they probably would have overruled this as well.

My biggest issue with it was the amount of time it took to decide he didn't handle it. It was literally seconds and totally inconsistent with all VAR reviews so far this season. Something really stinks about this.

Not sure if it's already been posted but there is a very strong rumour doing the rounds that VAR was not in use at the game yesterday due to 'technical reasons' - however, this was never disclosed.
As you say the speed of which the decision to decide he didn't handle it was breathtaking.
Also, for the second goal it took literally 15 seconds for VAR to decide it was OK. It took almost 4 minutes for a Sheffield United goal the day before. Also, to my knowledge, the official VAR photo showing the line for the second goal has not been published. Not sure if the above is true, as it is only a rumour. However, I do know that something stinks to high heaven about yesterdays game.

I've identified as an Everton supporter for the last 33 years.

And what you're saying is small time, yet I've not done that. Very weird. Point scoring over the [Poor language removed] over the death of people. It's pathetic lads.
What is pathetic is the behaviour that led to the 39 deaths. Further, what is pathetic is trying to sweep it under the carpet.

Maybe this isn't the thread for you? There are plenty of threads on here I don't go into because they are not for me, much better than going in just to tell people I disagree with them.
