Don't think I've ever heard a manager say what appealed to me is he was the nearest option. Its sounds like he was looking for a bit of fun on grinder.

30m quid seems very excessive from what I've seen this season. He can barely get a game for one of the worst sides in Bundesliga history. Whenhe has played, he's been attrocious. When Bayern beat them 8-0 he was shocking.

Had a look at his record this season. Played 13, lost 10, drawn 2 won 1. World class that.

To be fair, that isn't much different to the RS's recent record.

They are from 2012/13 when he was 17/18. Teenage lads tend to do daft stuff without thinking - and it is just some flippant comments on Twitter.

They will of course bite him hard on the arse if he isn't a success or makes a costly mistake though. You'd think a professional club would do a bit of a social media investigation and maybe tell potential signings to tidy up their timelines a bit and remove stuff during the very early stages of a deal though.
