Apparently Jota's knee is still in a brace. Klopp said he just had a knock and would be back soon. Doesn't sound like a knock and that he will be returning any time soon. Could be that he has had/needs surgery. Well done for playing him in a nothing game for your own vanity Klopp.

Is this true? He practically propped up their entire early season form.

They have taken this result surprisingly badly. I said in the lead up to the match, the draw is actually an ok result for then. It keeps them in touch and allows them to get some players back. I suppose the form of City, who look to be getting into gear with Aguero to return and Jesus to hit his stride worries them a bit. Out of all of the teams, they will be the hardest to chase down. Maybe that has contributed.

Maybe some just believed the hype that with a 10 day gap compared to Uniteds 3 day gap they'd wipe the floor with them. United have done really well this season though, so I'm not sure why they thought they were good enough to just turn up and win if they did.

Either way, heads are really falling off for them. I think deep down they know, they haven't really even got that many players left to come back. Jota is a decent squad option who had a bit of a purple streak, but he's not in their best front 3. Gomez they all know deep down is a liability and Fabinho is a better centre back. Thats their best 11 today, with the exception being that Van Dijk comes in and Henderson plays in midfield ahead of Shaqiri. It makes nominal difference to todays game as well. And thats peak Van Dijk, never mind the Van Dijk who likely comes back who will be anywhere from quite reduced in his skillset to massively reduced in his mobility.

It seems to a lot of them, todays feels like the day they've realised they won't win the league, or at least aren't favourites for it. I said consistently only them and City are capable of going on a run of say 6-8 straight wins, and in truth Liverpool look miles off that now. City could do, and in honesty if they do, they will have the league sewn up at a canter again.

This certainly feels the biggest moment of crisis for Klopp since he arrived. First time in 15 years they've gone 3 games with no goal. You throw the 2nd half in against West Brom too and it's 3.5 games really, so not sure how long youd have to go back for such a record. They seem to get the ball into decent scoring positions, but now lack the guile and speed to get good shots away.

In fairness to opponents, they seem to have sussed out that defending the box works. As Carragher says the liked if Firmino are not great ball shooters, and Mane/Salah thrive in space. It was noticeable how often United left Arnold and particularly Robertson free and how little ever came from them when they did.

They are in a moment of real difficulty. The question is, how far will the contagian spread now. In fairness to Klopp, he has always stopped the contagian spreading before, but now, who knows? Spurs mustreally fancy their chances to turn them over at the weekend.

It’s ok, their world class backup can step in. Minamino, Shaqiri, Oxlade Chamberlain, Origi.

I think some of them are starting to realise they are just expensive dross. Before huge agents and sign on fees are calculated thats nearly 100m in fees spent on those lads. They don't get a game at almost all Premier League teams. They were trying to punt Origi on loan to Wolves, and Wolves aren't even having a bite on loan. I think they gave him a massive contract when he nearly ran it down (woudn't be surprised if he's close to 150k p/w.)

For all they go on about their great recruitment, they have spent a lot of money on dross as well. Those 4 above are really poor. Shaqiri played for a Stoke side that got relegated and did nothing to help them stay up. Minamino has been here 13 months and has 1 goal and looks lightweight. Origi must have scored about 2 goals in the last year or so. Oxlade Chamberlain they spent 40m on and the spoilt brat scores about 3 goals a season and is 28. They're really poor. I wouldn't have any in our squad, never mind team here.

Throw in Tsimikas, Philips, Rhys Williams, Neco Williams, Keita. None of them are good enough for a title challenging team. What does it say about their young centrebacks when Klopp prefers two midfielders in there rather than giving them a run.

They’ve had years of going injury free and now they have a couple of problems and they are complaining how unfair it all is. Every other team has to deal with missing top players every week. They’ve had one out this season and they’ve claimed it’s the end of the world.

Yes agree with that. I mean the young lads they have, in fairness they've not spent a huge amount on those. But Keita was close to 60m on fee, and you can guarentee from RB there would have been big sign on fees and agents fees as well. He's been a disaster. I mean, I can't think of many signings who could have cost what he did who've been as bad. This is whats killing them as well, these lads who have been signed for big money are just giving them nothing now. As for the Greek lad, who they told us would be the 2nd best left back in the league, I mean is he even in the match day squads? Not seen anything of him, apart from aaginst some Danish Part timers where he didn't look any better than his opponents.

As for the 2nd point, yes the myth of these "youngsters" has been burst now. Pep chucked Garcia in at 19. Williams is 20 in a couple of weeks and that Phillips is like 24. They are not youngsters. Klopp just doesn't think they are good enough. I've said it about loads of their young players, but those lads will not make it in the Premier League. I include that Billy kid they go on about, the Sepp lad they mention etc, for them not to get even a sniff, and you have to decimate your midfield instead, shows that the manager knows they are nowhere near ready. Whatever they've paid for them and the high wages they have them on will all be down the toilet. They're not making the 1st team.

I mean compare it to us, when we had centre backs out, we put a 17 year old in in Brainthwaite. If he wasn't put in, you would know he's not going to make it. It's like Simms now, the fact Sigurdsson plays up fromt over him tells you he won't make it here. It won't stop the 24/7 b/s coming from them though.

"Our title".

You "won" it in 1 season in 31, and the only season to have a 3 month break within it. It has no credibility. It's a weird freakish anomalie that everyone will forget when we banish 2020 to the dustbins of history.

City are taking back what is theirs.
Speaks to their arrogance, if City win it this year then they've won it 5 out of the last 10 years.

Not even United were claiming it was theirs when they won about 13 in 26 years.
