Frightens me that they will get about £100m and then blow the lot on Mbappe who is only in his early 20's

Barca and Real don't have that money at the moment do they? Also the rs were only just furloughing their staff and losing a reported 9 million a week during lockdown. I don't think that they could afford a Mbappe.

Also if the 2 Spanish superclass had the cash, they'd be better off going for Mbappe themselves. So don't worry about it.
