ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

No, and there is always an exception that proves any rule. However I always find it very dubious these sort of grey areas. When you look at Lance Armstrong, what you realise is there are whole layers of people who exist to exploit the grey areas to cheat, and that is in essence why they exist.

It's like the argument with Rio Ferdinand all them years ago who just happened to forget a drug test. I mean it might just be an awful coincidence. I have my own personal view on it though.

I suspect we share very very similar views on Rio alright and how a professional athlete, or a whole team in the case of man city/Barca, can simply forget about their doping responsibilities are absolutely beyond me.

I think we are on the same page with TEUs, just coming from a different angle, for me they are needed & the examples of bowel issues, migraine or actual asthma should not be a barrier to anyone playing football, but I think there is huge room for improvement to stop the systematic abuse of TUE's that is going on. This could include more declaration, narrowing of this list and stricter time limits.

It is utter madness that a team has 22 asthmatics as reported or that a very well known UK cyclist suffered from the very same hayfever issues the weekend before the tour de france all with a view to abusing TUEs & that's before you get into the likes of Sharapova, which is frankly ridiculous that this kind of systematic doping can be excused through exemptions.

My conclusion is they are needed, but need to be way way more tight & transparent, to try to stop the pure abuse which is riff through Tennis, Cycling, athletics and probably football.

But how many of those companies are paying staff grotesque weekly wages?
That's the point.
Arsenal another example of losing staff then announcing William on £1million + a month.

There are no heroes in this, but Arsenal need footballers at the moment, they dont need the mainly stadium based staff they laid off.

I cba checking, but I would guess that many shops have laid staff off over the last 7 months. Some cos the shop went actually bust, but plenty will still be trading, and if John Lewis was one of them, (closed some stores iirc), reckon we will be spared a John Lewis Christmas advert in a few weeks?

Same thing really.

Well no.

But if a player develops a condition upon transfer to a football club, that would be slightly different no?

Or if the % of the playing staff with a condition was massively higher than the norm, would that not appear odd to you?

Like it may be all rubbish, no idea myself, but still......
Well... Check the Norwegian (yes, literally) cross country skiing team with their raging asthma epidemy over the years...

Of course they need footballers. But a job is a job for those poor buggers.
But crying poverty when clearly they aren't, doesn't sit to well with me.
Just a scenario if you were employed by Everton and this happened, how would you feel?

Like I said, no heroes in this. The common factor is Merican owners. I can understand why they did it, deffo dont agree with it, but the point is, they will spend money on folk they need, less so on ones they dont. Ruthless, and not a pretty look, but its their train set.

If I worked for Everton? I would be confident that they wouldnt do it.
