This seems to be the nub of the issue. They expected 20/30m for Wilson, Shaqiri, Grujic and one or two others and cant flog any, means no money to buy and stuck with these lads clogging the squad

You can tell they expect it to be another 30 years before they win the title again by all this desperate antics. Had city ever won the league before they won the PL? They just got on with it and kept winning it. Chelsea did the same, proper winners.

Even Leicester didn't lower themselves to this much embarassement and their win was 10 times as special.

Not skint per se, but just very exposed. They've followed an aggressive strategy that requires both aggressive growth from them, and from football. Neither is happening, so they're tight for cash.

Its all very obvious. They maxed the credit card on the signings, and particularly the wages, blowing City and Chelsea out of the water. In lieu of major sales, they're struggling.
