I had the advantage of being an Everton supporter at school in Liverpool (1940's) when Liverpool FC had never won the FA Cup. The RS hated being reminded of it. It used to be said that if Liverpool won the cup the Liver bird would fly away.

I don't know why anyone is surprised by it. Every time they failed to win a derby they accused us of making Hillsborough gestures or pissing on the flame. Imagine accusing people who are closer to the disaster than they would ever be when they behaved with such class in supporting them. We even allowed one of them on here to claim he was a blue who witnessed such acts. Hillsborough has got them a free pass off the media but football fans across the country know what they are. Hopefully they'll be treated as such next season and we'll see a few more of them slapped about like fantascruff.
