Pathetic
Yeah like we'd want to be out amongst all them celebrating
Of course it was us and united fans, turning out to celebrate them winning it. Just like it wasn’t RS fans who smashed up the city bus, just like it wasn’t the RS fans at Heysel.

Great post mate. The special treatment and protection they get from the media is incredible, but why do they get it? I think there is more than one reason and it's not easily explained. Firstly the media, tv and newspapers and absolutely infested with their fans. Secondly, anyone who does criticise them gets the full treatment from the fans. Death threats, online abuse, nasty [Poor language removed] posted to your house, kids threatened the lot. No one wants that if they can avoid it. Thirdly, a lot of newspapers and journos are wary of painting them in a bad light after Hillsborough. There's no denying Liverpool fans were treated disgracefully by the media, the police and the govt. There was a genuine conspiracy to blame Liverpool fans and tarnish the reputation of the city. Partly to protect the police and partly because Thatcher and the Tories wanted revenge. Liverpool fans together with the help of Everton fans refused to buy the Sun, and it seems that is a decision that hurt them financially, and they've been sucking up to Liverpool ever since. Lastly the club itself is very litigious. A few journos have hinted that they were silenced by Liverpool's lawyers when they attempted to publish stories about the hacking scandal. Only The Times was brave enough to ignore the legal threats and publish the story. When the Leeds manager admitted peeping over a wall to spy on opposition training, there was national outrage. It filled the media for days. Liverpool employees hack their rivals and steal scouting information. Not only that, but they promote the two hackers as a reward for a job well done. Not a peep in the media. That is the power they have.
It's sickening to watch as a relative outsider, I can't begin to imagine what it's like being in the same City and being tarnished with the same brush.
