ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

They won’t get no where near 98 points next year, this was a freak season where the stars aligned and they had something to cling on to. Min 80s at best I reckon with City keeping to there standard high nighties minimum.

There’s also a serious over rating of there centre midfield on here. Not one of them would get in our team if we sign Gomes.

Gana > Fabinho
Gomes > Henderson
Sigurdsson > Wijnaldum

Keita has been a bad buy for them but Fabinho looks good and Wijnaldum suits kick and rush football. With De Bruyne back and VAR it will be harder for Liverpool to be as close this year. They’ll still be a massive threat in the CL as City aside most teams in Europe are in transition or just crap.

Madrid have spent heavily so you'd expect them to be in with a big shout

The worry for me is can City keep it up for a 3rd season in a row. They might not need 98 points next season if City slip up..

There's nothing to suggest City will suddenly fall off a cliff points wise, theyve set the bench mark now 95+ points is needed to win the PL

It's more likely Liverpool will struggle to hit those numbers, City have proven they can do it back to back

Agreed. They can't even challenge on all fronts domestically yet and unless he improves the squad dramatically then that won't be happening anytime soon.
Yeah, they're in an awkward position now where they're mostly looking for players that are able to contribute, but are also cheap enough to justify coming in as bench options. I used to think that they badly needed to upgrade in centre midfield, but now I reckon that Klopp prefers to fill the middle of the park with athletes that will put a foot in and release the ball early.

Weirdly, they looked more vulnerable in the competition that they won (four defeats in 13) than the one they came up short in. I just want to see more Premier League teams having the sense not to get drawn into playing hospital balls in their own half. It's probably an exaggeration because I'm obviously biased, but I feel as though a ridiculous amount of their goals come from goalkeepers and defenders making poor decision in possession.

I agree. We should have bought and played with a centre midfield of Sigurdsson, Barca cast off Gomes and Gueye. That midfield would have gotten us better results again Bayern, PSG, Barca.

Also, to the folks talking about kick and rush football, I thought the issue with Liverpool was that they couldn't break down a packed defence as per the wisdom imparted by Everton folks for years, so how can anyone play kick and rush against a defence which is sitting back.
I know tactical understanding isn't good for people watching horrid football for years but still.

Try to at least be semi-logical in your bitterness.

@roydo I think this one is pretty easy tbf

Tbf it's good kick and rush football, nobody's denying that
I have come more to the thinking that they are the CL Wimbledon and Klopp is the Germanic Bobby Gould.

I can't wait until they sell the franchise to Warrington after losing their ground. I'll feel sorry for the genuine fans as they play on the park for AFC Liverpool whilst they hold their bitterness against Warrington Poolers FC.
