ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

I'll confess something right now, if and I mean big if, they do go on to win it, I may get a bit emotional but for a very personal reason. My dad would have loved the bones out of this current side (Salah's cheating aside) and he always longed for the day they become Champions again just like he did with the Champions League before Istanbul happened. Pretty sure he's playing his part up there right now

I don't see how it's possible for them not to win it at this stage. There's no way they'll get beat when they face City on 3rd January. And they'll thrash Spurs at home in March.

The reaction won't be anything like that if a club that has already won the league 18 times and has the worlds most expensive defender and 2nd most expensive goalkeeper and has spent more money than anyone in the last 2 or 3 years wins the league, it's not that big a story.

I hope you're right fella.

Like my own dad, I'm sure he had many days of celebration and watching top sides, I remember watching the champs league 2005 with him and biting my tongue as I felt bad for him at half time, little did I know! Fortunately I watched the 2007 game elsewhere so could cheer the Ac Milan goals from the rafters

Yeah I know, it wasn't aimed at you specifically. I just quoted your post which pointed out the horrors of what it would be like IF it happens. I am seeing plenty on here who are talking like it's a done deal though.

Sadly I am one of those people who think it is not quite done but almost dusted.

Nowt I have seen in the first half of the season leads me to believe that they are going to let a six point lead slip from here on in.

:(

That said, it looked a lot bleaker than this at Easter 2014, when a point at home to Chelsea would have almost certainly clinched it for them.

Alas there is no Jose to ride to the rescue these days.

Still, at least we'll have the fume of the Kopite title to make us forget Brexit and the fallout.. Food and fuel shortages, fat cats running for the hills.. At least the Miracle of BigStandBul will take our minds off much worse things.

Not forgetting Chopper Klopper all over the papers and TV selling Dental Floss.

Any chance for Arsenal on Saturday? The only thing giving me hope is Emery seems to know what he's doing.

A draw here and a defeat by City would ease the dread.

They'll beat Arsenal 3-1 mate. Amongst a few other things they've got this season that they didn't have last season, they have also got that swagger mentality, they go out expecting to win now.

I was thinking after the Derby that we didn't look that far behind them, then I looked at the table this morning and after the half way stage in the season we're a massive 24 points behind them, and that margin is only going to get bigger.

At the risk of getting bullets in the post, fair play to them if, as they should do, go on to win it. That's based on the first half of the season.
Now the pressure really ramps up this second half and it's here, we'll see if they can hold their nerve.
Like I've said before, it's their fans who get on my nipple end, so whereas I'll shrug my shoulders if their team wins it, there will be unbridled joy from me to watch their fanbase implode if they fail, again.

If they had lost the odd game here or there I would be confident in them slipping however I fear they are having a Leicester otherworldly season where literally everything goes there way.

I dont just mean in luck or ref decisions but also how they had players like Huth, Simpson and Morgan playing like Vidic, Rio and Evra in their prime- seem familiar to that lot with even Lovren at the back helping them keep clean sheets at present.

Conceeding 7 goals just isn't normal and their back line minus Van Dijk is hardly anything special it has 2 kids and Hulls former LB in it.
