Bell field was falling apart, had no modern facilities such as an indoor pool.or spacious gym and only a few pitches, it needed knocking down. It was also opposite a park.

Melwood is a state of the art sporting complex, swimming pool,, massive indoor spacing with conference facilities etc. Doesn't make sense to bulldoze it. It has also suffered with traffic issues, so building loads of private housing will be a disaster to the local community - if they worsened anfields socioeconomic problems, they may as well do it to Mellwoods?
