That one always makes me laugh, hundreds of them robbing Trimm Trabs, Ellesse,Fila, and La Coste on their European Tours 78-80 and inventing terrace fashion.

1978-79 knocked out first round by Nottingham Forest
1979-80 knocked out first round by Dynamo Tiblisi
1981 Wade Smith opens.

I wonder who Everton were playing pre season during this period @edge might be able to shed some light on this, but I seem to remember Blues were bringing plenty back from Europe at the time.

More brands that Liverpool supporters invented. The clue's in the names: Fi La, La Costa.

The prototypes were knocked out from a shop on Oakfield Road on Jegsy Dodds Ma's knitting machine and Peter Hooton modelled them in the Albert and the Sandon on match days.

If I was a Juve fan I'd draw a zebra kicking a Liver Bird.

Their response at the time was quite apt given the sickening display that Liverpool had put on. ‘I know it’s 20 years too late, and we’re still not really sorry, but here’s one of our weird cult like banners with our cringey use of a foreign language so that we look dead virtuous in front of the tv because we have class and dignity’.

A lot of these City players will be hitting almost 58/60 games for the season; if Liverpool's players are playing about 8/10 games less on average then that is a massive extra burden. Itls draining both physically and mentally...many coming off summer world cups.

It just cant be done. If Liverpool are kept in the CL for another 4 matches after this then that MAYBE makes an impact.

As things stand (and you can see City's players dropping like nine pins now) Liverpool will win this title by a couple of points.

I just dont get the chase for the LC from Man City. Or the FA Cup. Itls daft and it;ll cost them on the two biggest trophies.

Totally agree, it's mind boggling to me why Guardiola is targeting 4 trophies.....klopp has been quiet clever binning the League Cup and FA Cup early on....

City clearly have the bigger and better squad, but now with DeBruyne, Fernandinho, Laporte and possibly Stones again out, they have lots of games with less capacity for team rotation

But if winning 2 meaningless trophies cost you one or both the Premier league and Champions league, what's the point?...

For Man City fans winning the 4 would shut up Manu with their 'treble'. They're sick and tired of hearing it like the '5 times' crap. We may have a go at Guardiola for 'stretching' to 4, and maybe letting the league slip, but Man City fans want the 4. I suspect so does Guardiola and I'd suspect he'd want the CL over the PL. Having said that winning can be a hard habit to break, momentum and all that.

Meaningless trophies? One of the worst football related comments I’ve ever seen!

In comparison to winning the league & champions league, last weeks league Cup win would be meaningless... Be great for us to win, but for Top top teams it really is mickey mouse stuff.. Who remembers league Cup winners over the years?....
