2025/26 Dwight McNeil

Hated? No, surely not? He’s just a poor footballer. He’s one of the reasons why we’ve been circling the drain for a while, just a poor quality player, championship level at best, and he’s not the only one. You have to remember that this lad is wearing the same shirt number as Trevor Steven and Pienaar to name
but a few. He’s not fit to lace their boots.
I don't think he's a poor footballer either, just severely limited. He can create magic out of nothing but him only having one foot is a massive issue, ESPECIALLY on the right. It makes no sense to have someone who only uses their left foot playing on the right side because he can't "hide" the ball. I think he can be an asset in the right situation but, on the right, nope.

Don't think he fell of a cliff just the standard has been raised and he has been left a mile behind quality wise.
He is a poor player really poor, I don't know anything he does even alright?

Be glad to see the back of him hopefully in the next couple of days.

Yeah, I think he sees how much better Grealish, Iliman are and knows he will not really ever get consistent playing time and has packed it in. I thought he was important in our relegation years and scored and assisted some important goals during that time but he has been so poor this season. Clear he does not want to be here. Get a replacement in, preferably one with pace.

Not as bad as some make out we missed him when he was out the other season.
Sadly he looks to have gone backwards,
Last game was shocking and it wasn't a one off, looked either to be carrying an injury or not intrested, or maybe thinking about a move I dont know, but I dont want to watch that again
Dont wish him any ill will , but might be time for him and the club to go there seperate ways.
I would sell him if the fee was decent, with or without him wouldn't make much difference were we end up in the table.

Always thought his performance depends if he was up for it had some cracking games for us and alot less so.honestly tho his best position is a number 10 not wide played well against forest like.i know he's not the answer going forward bloody ell the stick he's getting feel sorry for him he did score some important goals for us .

Him and Mykolenko are the weaklings in the team for me. With other players improving and stepping up it's clearer.

I don't see him leaving this window though, because I think we still need him as an extra body for the team despite his poor performances.

He was mainly terrible in the 10 role, played well at Forest ??? Yes good pass for the first goal , after that he was consistently giving the ball away. Left relegated Burnley to join relegation fodder Everton, think that says it all

The problem with Dwight is we brought players in that are unfortunately better than him.

He’s gone from being someone we’ve relied on for goals/assists to 5/6th choice across the forward positions.

I think his dip in form is a mixture of lack of game time at the very start of the season and also some sort of mental block because he knows he’s not going to play when everyone’s fit.

He can’t say he wasn’t given opportunities though. When he’s had his chance he should have at least worked his backside of - he hasn’t.

Moyes just doesn’t fancy him and there’s too many better players ahead of him. Anyone who says he’s not a decent player is barmy though. When he’s at it he’s a decent premier league level player.

Under Moyes though the writings on the wall for him if he actually wants play. We’d be mad to sell this window though with Grealish ruled out for the season.
