2024/25 Dwight McNeil

“And like I say, in this league, if you don't take your chances you're going to get punished, and that's what happened today."

what chances is he on about

does he think we are like liverpool and have 30 attempts on goal every game?

we had 8 shots, 3 of them were on target and we had an xg of 0.57

ipswich had more shots on goal, more shots on target and a better xg

wish our players would stop talking out there arse

You make me feel, Dwiiiiiiight McNeil.

Still think he's a squad player next season, if we have the summer transfer window we require.

As a squad player he is an excellent option.

Like most of our current squad, he’s reasonably good at some things. Decent cross, scores the odd good goal. But like most of the current squad, has too many limitations.
Too slow and too one footed. If we’re going to progress we need pacy, skilful wingers.
It was too easy for Ipswich to just sit deep in the second half and watch us pass the ball around without us mustering any real shots on goal. And that’s against one of the worst teams in the league.

Standards have been eroded so much. Under Moyes 15 years ago the majority of these players would've been nowhere near our club. Now we're relying on them to win us games.
Not really, the best comparison would be Bilyaletdinov.
Played 59 times under Moyes, wand of a left foot, scored a few worldy goals, took a beautiful set piece, could cross really well but was slow and nobody knew where to put him positionally to get the best out of him.
That’s exactly what McNeil is except he tracks back better.
McNeil would’ve been a solid squad option at the least even in the best Moyes squads.

You could make an argument for him being the bit part player who was nowhere near as good as the first 11. Problem is that in our current squad McNeil is the main man.

Has 2 assists and a goal in less than 90mins of football
