I just hope that this injury doesn't mean he loses any of his electric pace
People make a lot of his lack of pace, but he's one of the few players who seems to travel quicker with the ball than without it.

Put it this way, would you rather Dwight McNeil or Adama Traore?

If anybody votes Traore I hope they enjoy the crayons their mum put in their lunchbox this morning.

he isnt slow but his first few yards looks laboured, as you say, when he has the ball at his foot, he keeps it under such close control it is difficult to nick it off him. Sheedy wasn't quick and was a strict monoped and he did OK

Exactly, he has really good control of the ball when travelling up the pitch.

People often bemoan his lack of outright pace, and yes, a bit of extra pace could help but it's not the be all and end all.

He's one of my current favourites in the team.

Love him, but he's a snail compared to anyone on the team to be honest, but works his nads off and reads the game well enough - this is a bit more vital than having Mbappe's pace for us currently, but is a massive hindrance as he's barely able to run in behind players.

That said, great control of the ball definitely, but annoyingly some of the passes into space he makes are infuriating - most often you see it with Myko overlapping and McNeil playing the ball 5 feet behind him for no reason, stopping his run. He did it a few times last few games, absolutely stops dead the progress sometimes. Could be form/concentration/I dunno, but it's like he's not used to pass in front of Mykolenko lol
