We had Duncan at a time when the rest of the team lacked belief - he was the one reason we never got bullied. Was great watching him in the games where the centre halves just really didn't know what had hit them. Probably the strongest centre forward of his type in the last 30 years.

He was a far better player than he got credit for, he was quick when not injured, a beast of a left peg, unplayable in the air, could link play up. Put it this way, if Rom learned to have 70% of Duncs link up play he will be a world beater.

Always baffles me when Everton fans have a pop at Duncan, he wasnt perfect, but he was ours and he gave a load of fans hope when they didnt have anything to cling on to, just baffles me.

I've met the lad and loved him to bits. I loved that the RS and Utd were genuinely scared of him. We didn't see what he could really do due to injuries and, let's not ignore it eh, stupid suspensions.

Ability wise - top of the tree but only a legend to those too young to have seen some real legends of the club. The last one we had was Neville Southall.

Steady on, mate. I too am a hopeless romantic who'd love to see Big Dunc manage us one day, but he'll have to prove himself by managing in the lower leagues before he could be afforded a shot here.

Might happen one day, but I'd wager he won't be the manager to succeed Martinez.
