I had not seen this before..I guess some of you guys were there..But Fk me what a legend...I can't think of high enough praise for the man...

Every word is what being an Evertonian is like...you can't bottle this feeling being an Evertonian...

I don't care , if you support Newcastle , Man Utd , Liverpool...Nothing comes close to being an Evertonian...

Something very very very spiritual about this club...

The man frustrated me,he had so much talent for a big lad but never really gave it his all in a way like Sharp did but hell its clear he still loves the club but christ he could have been utterly world class but while stats dont tell the full story he could,no should have done a lot more.

Now i'll don my flame proof suit.:)

And yes i know he all sorts of injury problems etc and at times his own worst enemy but i stand by my words.

I posted that vid on here a while back when someone started a thread saying he wasn't a legend. It's like the Everton version of Henry V's St. Crispin's day speech for me.

Frustrating at times yes, but when he was on it, I was in heaven. I don't care who everyone else had, we had Big Dunc, and he scared the bejesus out of everyone. he loves the club, he's one of us. PRIDE, He fights for the club with PASSION and when he scores you can see what it means.

Man Mountain, He stood 7 feet tall with fire in his eyes and everton in his heart.
Legend.

Legend? maybe, talisman yes - absoloutely.

For me, not a legend, went missing for massive periods of the season, always 'injured' and never played Christmas.

Incredible personality, and great for the Club - not a legend in my eyes, i know this will upset a few people, but its my onion!

Whatever his shortcomings over time he will be a legend. The point of the word legend and the 7ft tall etc is that he is a player that will grow in folklore over time. Your grand kids will ask about him. He'll not be forgotten, there'll be players that scored more, that will be forgotten, not him, because he was more than just a forward. He was the talismanic icon of Everton at that time.

That's fine mate your entitled to your opinion...I understand your argument for not classing him as a legend...For me his fighting spirit and passion for the club made up for all the injuries and discipline issues...His goals , especially in the big games are some of the best known goals in Everton's recent history , I don't give legend status out easily to players , but for me he is an Everton Legend...

Great for Everton in some really bad times to be a blue, I remember watching MOTD when we beat United at Goodison in the league '95. He tore Bruce to pieces and scored with a terrific header, Alan Hansen spoke about him after the game and said he'd rather player against Zola than Ferguson any day of the week.

I don't think peoples opinions really matter on him, if they regard him as a legend or not. It's what the player means to yourself, for me he made being a blue special when I was growing up just for his pure love for Everton.

Growing up watching the Everton teams of 94 as a sprog, this guy will always be my footballing hero.

I used to have a life size poster of Big Dunc on my wall. The bluetak failed miserable in the early hours due to the weight of this monster murial, so I awoke with Big Dunc staring at me....

9 years old i think. I remember my dad saying "he's watching over you pal....".

I grew up watching him, the only personality in the team you could really take too.

He's a Legend and a Hero to me.
