Duncan Ferguson Moving On

….very surprised and pleasantly happy. He’s been in a comfort zone on big bucks for too long & it has become apparent Lampard does not seek his counsel.

As a player, i wouldn’t put him in the top 20 strikers I’ve seen at Everton & squirm when I see him in montage with some of the true legends. As a coach, I think he’s been very lucky to have had a job with us for so long.
This is a good sign that you've been following them a fair while as there's not been many in the last 25 years! ?

Best of luck to him. I'm not sure he's manager material.

The worry is, even if he fails elsewhere, Everton will eventually end up appointing him regardless.

Its for the best. His continued presence at the club was just pointless at this stage. Its better for all involved for him to move on and build himself up in management. Hopefully one day he'll be back and this time permanently in the managers seat, but the truth is that it was never going to happen while he just continued to hang around waiting for the opportunity. Maybe it won't work out for him as a manager elsewhere but at least he won't have regrets about never even trying now.
