Dullest Premier League season ever?

It's all about the big boys for the PL now. They do not want Man U going down, hence the VAR yesterday.
It's the RS turn to win the league this year, that was agreed before the season started. It will keep them quiet for a while.
I've a feeling Arsenal win it next year to keep the Premier League interesting to the outside world.
This is WWE but we just don't have the evidence yet.
It's worth billions and the PL are corrupt AF
Was actually comparing it to American show wrestling myself yesterday when talking about the PL yesterday. Premier League or Predetermined League?

It looked from the off that City's players were going through the motions not wanting to defend the title.

I think something's defo gone on here behind the scenes and they've been told it'd be a problem for their court cases them winning the title again so they should take the heat off themselves.

There's no rational sporting explanation how City get so bad almost overnight. None.

The title race this season has been null and void almost from the off.

Surely he wouldn’t script the league being done with 12 games to go?
Of course he would prefer both the title and relegation going to the final day, but that’s difficult to always do when your fixing games and results, week on week, year on year.

At the end of the day, as long as the tellyclappers and sky fee payers are happy, masters is going his job properly, so things being decided in March isn’t the end of the world for Dicky.

Was often boring when Man United were winning everything, then when Chelsea got taken over and won the league for a couple of seasons playing agricultural football. City then win with a bench costing more than most other teams squads.

Find the Champions league incredibly dull.

Still get invested in our games but not as much as previously. Don’t particularly root for many of our players as much as I used to. Team doesn’t seem to have any kind of identity.

It wasn't.
The kopites hated it.
Your enemies enemy etc.
The rs still don't get what the majority are saying by dull, saying everyone is bitter...

Remember Moyes going to United and being happy with just a 1 or 2 nil defeat. It was boring how all teams and refs just rolled over for them. Much preferred arsenal to win but they imploded after their stadium was built.

We were more competitive during a lot of that era, often sniffing about European places and regularly finishing above Liverpool so wasn't quite as dull.

With the league pretty much over and relegation almost sorted with 12 games still to go is this the most boring season ever? Part of me is happy given where we were before Moyes came, but it feels like the rest of the season is pretty pointless and there are still nearly 3 months to go!

I know what you mean but for us anyway these last three months are going to be very poignant as we say goodbye to our beloved spiritual home.

I am going to the last two home fixtures and already feel more emotional about those games than any I have ever been to in my over half a century of going the match.

I only really watch Everton games for the past few seasons. Haven't watched any Champions league games for a good few years now. Watched the first half of todays game and then cooked tea.

For me Money and how its distributed has destroyed the game.

I prefer watching NFL these days.
The same apart from the NFL bit and that's only because I don't watch that rather than anything against NFL.

I have almost transitioned to watching no other sport than Everton play. And that was almost on hiatus before Dyche got the push.

It’s just the same nonsense year after year. The same 4 teams (I wouldn’t even call it a top 6 anymore) receiving the coverage and surface level hype from the same old faces who know nothing about football despite most of them playing the game. None of them have the intuition to actually challenge what is wrong with the game and seem happy with the financial disparity and weirdly, considering many of them played the game, the diving.

You’ve got the teams that are good spending the GDP of Belarus and being able to flaunt rules that are already in place to let them be good and the best anyone else can hope for is to grab a European place which they can’t repeat the next season because they’re forced to sell their best players.

Finally, the game is pretty much marketed entirely to global armchair fans and the English game has lost the charm that must of us grew up loving.

I much prefer Ice Hockey, Baseball and the NFL to the sanitised dive fest that is football these days.

Rodri is a decent reason. De Bruyne, Gundogan, Walker past it. Definitely declined.

The Championship is even becoming less interesting these days also.

You hear alot of fans of the yo yo clubs saying the journey in reality is actually better than the destination.

Ipswich have been a great story but have pretty much had to change there whole team to make any sort of chance of staying up

Leeds Burnley & Sheff Utd next season wont be particularly interesting either

Rodri is a massive absentee. But they have world class all over the pitch and man for man are the equal if not better team than Liverpool...including with Salah.

There's no way that De Bruyne and Gundogan's decline explains a 20 point gap to Salah + luggage.

They've tanked this season purposely.

I always thought you were quite level headed Dave but to suggest a team are purposely tanking makes no sense.

I dont think the motivation is there from top to bottom. They know City have been in breach and that winning the title again this season would bring down more scrutiny on them.

It's like when we say that elites rule the world. Obviously we dont mean that a cabal get together of the Bilderberg Group and call the shots. We mean that there are organisations making decisions to avoid systemic terminal crisis of late capitalism.

In the same sense there are those type of communication levers being pulled within City that lets every one involved know that this is not an eyeballs out, go for it season - what with everything else swirling about that club.

This season they've had to leave fallow.
