Drenthe the enigma

I hope we sign him! He is honestly a breath of fresh air. We seem to play much more attacking football when he is on opposed to when coleman is on.
 

I love little Ricky. Couple of quid for goals and assists and some questionable performances? He is just like Neville but better. Please sign him Lad

He's the new Bilyaletdinov.

Capable of some good things and some equally bad things.

At the moment he's more good than bad but if its not fans picking up on any little thing he does wrong to maon about him its him being hauled off as a sub first regardless of how well he is playing or it affects the team.

Are you sure? I think that's very harsh on Drenthe. Bilyaletdinov was absolutely atrocious 90% of the time, he was never exciting (apart from long shots) or involved in play. Honestly, his idea of closing down with hilarious! "If I just jog around, 10yards away never putting my foot in it might look like i'm trying"
Drenthe has offered so much in a small time compared to Bily, who had the odd screamer over and that's about it.
 
Got to agree with get Jo on he offers far more than Bilyaletdinov in all departments its just his diving that does my swede in, he's one of the only players in our team who can offer something different

I probably didn't phrase it properly first time.

I didn't mean in how they play, Drenthe is far superior so far, just in how fans react to them and how Moyes always seems to sub him off or give him hardly any time at the end.

A player who despeite being highly talented just isn't right for Everton, even though he should be.
 
I think that Drenthe just needs to get the basics right such as staying on his feet and not doing too much with the ball. If he gets all of the basic things right then he would probably be our best player, because no matter what you think about the lad, he does have talent.

He isn't the new Bily because unlike Bily, he is not completely gash. He is awesome, with occasional moments of gashness.
 
Imo, Drenthe is one of the best things that have happened to this Club in recent years. He's very exciting to watch and probably our most-feared player. Unfortunately, i think he's too much of a live - wire to suit Moyes, and a bust-up is probably just around the corner. Which says just as much about Moyes' shortcomings as it does about Drenthe's. On the match thread yesterday somebody thought that they saw him storm straight down the tunnel when he was brought off (i hope that's not true). I will be very depressed if we don't sign him at the end of the season, but i'm preparing myself for the worst.
