...from what i gather it was that regular. So can it really be argued that it was a matter of principle when Moyes acted on the Thursday before the SF?
At the very least you have to say that Moyes has been weak and inconsistent.
If I was a player in that squad I'd respect the manager more if he'd carried on past the point where Drenthe was useful and then say:
"right bollocks, I'm fcuking sick of you, get your s
hit together and get back to Amsterdam or Madrid or wherever the fcuk you're going"
That's the only way he could have credibly dealt with the situation once he'd allowed Drenthe back into the fold on a couple of occasions. To suddenly want to get all sergeant major about him doesn't stack up to me.
I go back to the three words from earlier:
Timing...Judgement....Consistency.
Moyes displayed none of them in this sorry episode.
