Neat and tidy. Will benefit more when all our best players are around him.
The accusation that Lampard tends to boot the lineup, then make good subs, is supported by his failure to start van de Beek today. Gomes was always wrong for this game.

(Can't say anything about the other substitutions since they were forced upon him.)

I don’t blame him not starting the new lads. 1. They’re not match fit, and 2. The lads played great at Brentford so what message does dropping them next game send?

That he's going to start the squad that's right for the game?

He dropped Myko today, presumably on tactics. There's no reason to play the same XI on a three day turnaround if they play well, if you want them to keep playing well. He has to rotate to keep people fresh, and for tactical reasons. Otherwise, we'll get injuries, be unable to rotate and end up in the usual vicious cycle. Not saying that's what happened today, given that we were coming out of the break.

If he's truly a good man-manager, he can make those kinds of changes and get away with it. If he's allocating playing time to keep people happy, he's not a good man manager.

Gomes was motd, you’d bench him ?
100%. He's not someone to play against a physical team like the Geordies unless there are no alternatives. It's a bad matchup for him.

He didn’t drop Mykolenko he has/possibly has COVID. Least keep yourself up to date.
