As I said, past politicians convicted of felonies have not been able to soldier on, irrespective of prior popularity. If Ted Kennedy had been convicted on Chappaquiddick, it would have been the end of his career.
(I had never noticed before, but that name sounds like a bad experience story in a certain Ale House thread.)
Whether or not that holds in this case is another question. Trump had defied certain political laws of gravity before. This one has been iron for a very long time. So it's an irresistible force/immovable object thing.

He's called it a rigged trial from a rigged judge, and he's calling himself innocent. I really do not think that's a sensible thing to do before sentencing.
So if anyone else was found guilty, wouldn't they just go to jail ? If you have been found guilty on 34/34 counts, shouldn't you be sentenced ?
