TBH the NATO issue is one of the very few issues where he is not wrong - countries should spend sufficient money on their own defence rather than freeloading, and should face consequences if they do not take effective part in the common defence of an alliance.

That many countries in NATO are still below 2%, even after two years of the Ukraine war, the experience of four years of Trump and with an increasing number of red lights appearing across the globe is mind-boggling. That our government here in the UK is barely arsed to get to 2.5% of GDP on defence as a target could easily end up being the worst thing history will remember them for, far more than Brexit or the mishandling / corruption of the response to COVID - it should be a minimum of 3% just on the conventional forces.
