The Durham report just dropped in full yesterday. All that Russian collusion, pee gate etc all just a sham. Millions of words written in newspaper columns, countless hours on news channels, walls closing in, Pulitzer's; fake news all of it. FBI, Comey, DOJ, Clinton campaign in a concerted hoax to destroy a legitimate Presidency. At best we'll get a 'whoopsie' from those responsible. No-one will be forced to resign or step down. No consequences for the biggest political scandal for generations.

So Obama's admin did spy on his campaign as he's long claimed and been criticised for by the media.

The FBI launched a full investigation “without (i) any significant review of its own intelligence databases, (ii) collection and examination of any relevant intelligence from other U.S. intelligence agencies, (iii) interviews of witnesses essential to understand the raw information it had received or (iv) using any of the standard analytical tools typically employed by the FBI in evaluating raw intelligence,” the report reads. “In addition, FBI records prepared by Strzok in February and March 2017 show that at the time of the opening of Crossfire Hurricane, the FBI had no information in its holdings indicating that at any time during the campaign anyone in the Trump campaign had been in contact with any Russian intelligence officials.”

Durham furthermore notes how the FBI’s launching of Crossfire Hurricane — which was “based on raw, unanalyzed, and uncorroborated intelligence” — also reflected “a noticeable departure from how it approached prior matters involving possible attempted foreign election interference plans aimed at the Clinton campaigns.” In one instance, “FBI Headquarters and Department officials required defensive briefings to be provided to Clinton and other officials or candidates who appeared to be targets of foreign interference,” according to the report.

It's remarkable how the intelligence and enforcement authorities have been weaponised for entirely political ends. I don't know how the US can restore trust in these institutions like the FBI any more. How can the executive branch govern while the law enforcement branches are on a political crusade? It seems so dangerous that Democrats appear willing to put their head down and allow this to happen or worse to actively support attempts by supposedly independent and impartial authorities to imprison and punish their political opponents.

How can Biden and his acolytes claim with a straight face that democracy is in danger from their opponents while they're presiding over this madness?

Apart from Trump openly inciting a violent attempt to stop the 2020 election from being certified and calling the country's entire electoral process a complete lie, you're right, there really isn't much Biden and his acolytes can point to. Hopefully Trump can dismantle the deep state now

How can the executive branch govern while the law enforcement branches are on a political crusade?

It can't. You might argue that the original sin was Iran-Contra, but the Reagan administration was manifestly guilty of breaking an explicit act of Congress. You might equally argue that the problem was the Clinton impeachment, but he did flat out lie to the public.

What both sides discovered from those events is that a presidency can be hamstrung by outside investigations, and it's only a short step from there to politicizing executive agencies like the DOJ, FBI and IRS in reply. That last one goes all the way back to Kennedy (including an audit of Nixon), which is how we ended up with Nixon demanding that the IRS audit his 'enemies list'.

The problem isn't new, but the scope is.

This Durham investigation resulted in one conviction and two acquittals. All very low level folks.

At least that's what I recall from an NPR report this morning.
